Metacom’s SCADA Communications Suite provides core communications infrastructure for widely distributed SCADA systems, by combining our SCADA Base Router software with the MC402 remote router and the MC407 mini RTU and metering modem. The systems delivers information from remote devices and RTUs directly into central SCADA systems, seamlessly and reliably.
The Base Router software, designed to run on a standard MS Windows based server, routes packets between the client SCADA application and remote devices. It includes a management tool for system configuration and data analysis, making fault finding and performance checking simple. It is designed to support any protocol – DNP3 and EV are supported in the current version.
Scalable architecture means third party communications devices can also be integrated directly with the Base Router, allowing for unlimited device configuration and expansion.
The system schematic below provides a high level overview of the Metacom communications infrastructure and associated sub systems for SCADA systems – please note, however that for confidentiality reasons it does not include the architecture relating to multiple redundancy systems and communication channels.
